Privacy Policy

BetterSend ("we", "us") helps you automatically send physical greeting cards and gifts to people you care about. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account data: your email address and a hashed password (or your Google account email if you sign in with Google).
• Contacts you add: names, relationships, birthdays, mailing addresses, and email addresses of your recipients — provided by you, by your recipients via address-request links, or imported with your permission.
• Google user data (with your explicit consent): if you connect Google, we access your Google Calendar events (read-only) to find birthday events, and your Google Contacts (read-only) to import names, birthdays, email addresses, and mailing addresses. We access only what is needed to schedule and address your cards.
• Payment data: handled by Stripe. We never store card numbers — only a payment-method reference and the last four digits.
• Card content: the messages, designs, and gift selections you configure.
• Usage analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site (pages viewed, approximate location, device type). Google Analytics sets cookies; see how Google uses this data. We also keep a first-party daily count of site visits.

How we use it

• To schedule, personalize, print, and mail your cards (via our print partner) and fund gift rewards (via our gift partner).
• To email you heads-up notices before a card ships and to email your recipients an address-request link when you ask us to.
• To charge your saved payment method only when a card actually ships.

Google API Services — Limited Use disclosure

BetterSend's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to provide user-facing features (finding birthdays and importing recipient details), never for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it except as necessary to provide the service, comply with law, or with your consent. Humans do not read this data except with your permission, for security, or to comply with law.

Sharing

We share data only with the processors required to deliver the service: our print/mail partner (recipient name, address, card message), our gift partner (gift amount), our payment processor (Stripe), and our email provider (recipient email for address requests). We never sell personal data.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete contacts at any time in the app, and you can request full account deletion by emailing privacy@getbettersend.com — we delete your data within 30 days. Disconnecting Google revokes our access; you can also revoke it at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed. OAuth tokens are held only in server memory for the duration of a sync and are not persisted to disk.
